There are thirteen species of Hessea that is indigenous to Southern Africa. Eight of the species is only found in the Western Cape. I have been informed that the Hessea flowers only once every thirty years. The Hessea Cinnamomea is found in the Cape Point National Park and we, at our age, experienced a once in a lifetime delight as it is now blooming.

From a distance it can be confused with little stones

Close up one sees its fine delicate appearance

Enjoy a super Friday.
