As we are about to leave for Switzerland our March lilies are starting to bloom and so this year we are going to miss out on the show these lilies put up.

The lilies this year are, to put it mildly, absolutely fantastic.

Sadly after the devastating fires which now seem to be extinguished or contained at least six hiking trails will not feature lilies this year.

Out of season

The garden gave us a great surprise when that this Inca Lily (alstromeria) decided to bloom out of season.

This is not an indigenous flower in South Africa.  Our own lilies will start blooming in a bout a month from now.  Enjoy a super day.
